Yes, I am excited to be setting up, moving in and then being part of a new community. The Barking Riverside Development Project, for me, as been an on-going adventure since June 2004 and 'At Last' this year (September 2011) we, as in Churches Together in Barking Riverside, will be moving into our new place of worship.

When people ask me 'what do you do?' I find it difficult to put the project into a paragraph without the dazed look developing on my enquirers face!!! because, in reality, sometimes I'm lost as to what I do.... the project has taken so many twists and turns and people have come on board then left that the vision of a place of worship within the new development, which seemed so clear seven years ago, can sometimes fade or get lost when 'nothing' physically seems to be happening.  OK so now I've lost you too!! lol

BUT 'hallelujah' the Rivergate Centre is now being built and will be completed by July 2011 - well the school part will be ready for the 1st intake in September 2011 - the bricks etc for the place of worship will be there but the internal furbishment will take place after July.  I now find myself on various boards - church, borough, management and school representing not only The Salvation Army but also Churches Together in Barking Riverside. 

Exciting times....
