Baptists are small minority in Israel, without lots of resources – but with a great zeal for sharing the gospel with others, in the same exact locations where God became flesh and dwelt among us.

In this video, Ian Bunce the head of Baptist Union of G.B. Mission Department, has an important message for Baptist pioneers. Ian talks of the need to change Baptist college training to make it more pioneer focused. He also speaks of how these pioneers will be pathfinders for the Baptists as they adapt to a rapidly changing mission context. Ian Bunce says, "All training should include elements about what it is to be a pioneer, as not only may pioneers become pastors, but pastors need to be shown that they can become pioneers."

At Incarnate we have become increasingly aware of the need for a greater level of networking and support for those involved in pioneering mission and church planting in rural communities. As was pointed out to me recently much of the contemporary missional thinking has come out of an urban or suburban context, which does not address the particular challenges of rural ministry.

As a start Incarnate are planning to give some time to rural pioneers at the next annual gathering in March. We are also planning a day for rural pioneers in the Autumn of 2012. Incarnate are in communication with other partners including Crucible, Rural Ministries, Rural Expression, Northumbria Community and Bristol College. However Incarnate as a grassroots organisation want to hear from you about what we can offer you as a rural pioneer and what you can offer to the wider network in terms of stories, support and resources etc.
