Cranbrook High Street ImpressionThe Anglican Diocese of Exeter, the Plymouth and Exeter Methodist District and the URC South Western Synod are seeking a lay or ordained person to help establish a worshipping and witnessing ecumenical community in Cranbrook, a new town in East Devon. Full time, fixed term contract for five years.

The postholder will work with the developing community to offer welcome and outreach to new residents and explore with the community the development of an appropriate and relevant form of church offering pastoral care and spiritual nurture to the whole community.

CEM Logo 2010 tCutting Edge Ministries (CEM) has been at the cutting edge of the evangelistic training and equipping of churches since 1994 and is now seeking to appoint a Ministry Leader to work alongside the existing team of missioners and trustees.

The successful candidate will:

  • be able to demonstrate Christian values and a Christian lifestyle to others
  • have a living Christian faith, confidence in the authority and reliability of the Bible
  • have an understanding of Christian mission in 21st Century UK
  • have good communication skills
  • have relevant qualifications, e.g. theological training, social work, community education
  • have an ability to work both independently and, for an initial period, under direction of the current Gloucester based Missioner

South Street Baptist Church is situated ten miles west of Birmingham, in the heart of The Black Country, on the edge of a very needy estate.

For years this small fellowship of "young at heart", active, committed members dreamed of engaging meaningfully for God’s Kingdom with their neighbours in adjacent flats and houses but lacked financial resources and people. Then the miracle happened!
